Apoceus Wiki

Overview[]

General Allarah is a prominent figure in Apoceus, leading the Clan Bracken. She is known for her wisdom, agility, and tactical prowess. And player must know how to control and spread her power to the battle.

Lore[]

General Allarah is one of the more notable leaders of the Dwarven rebellion. As famed for her inspiring leadership as she is feared for her marksmanship. Though she has a habit of becoming indecisive when making hard choices, she also emanates a sense of camaraderie among her fellow warriors, fueling enough bravery in their hearts to fellow her into death and beyond.

Early life[]

Allarah was born as a single child into a life of wealth and privilege, her path already set before she could even walk. Though she would find that a life of luxury was both dull and uneventful: the same banquettes and the same monotonous debates about anything and nothing would do little to sate her adventurous mind.

At a young age she once caught a glimpse of the images in the books of her father’s library depicting Dwarven military history. From that point onward she became infatuated with subjects like military tactics and unit formations. One image in particular depicting a Dwarven archer bringing down a foe from a hundred yards with but a single arrow, sparked a curiosity in her heart as she herself wanted to be that archer. Though it may have started out as a vain idea; to want to impress and to be the center of attention, it evolved into a genuine sense of wanting to help others using those skills.

As she came of age she insisted that she be taught the art of marksmanship. Though her parents were at first reluctant, she remained persistent, forcing them to eventually relent. Ignoring the prospects of an arranged marriage, Allarah studied and trained at Hewboulder Military Academy, becoming one of the top students there to graduate.

Allarah’s revolt[]

During her education and field exercises she earned a reputation as a skilled tactician and lethal marksman, perfectly capable of felling game in full flight from well over two hundred yards away. This reputation eventually came to the attention of King Mordegald, who summoned her to his court. Although wary of the ill-rumored king, a royal summon was not to be neglected. As Mordegald prepared to bolster the kingdom’s defenses against incursions by the neighbouring Orc tribes, he requested Allarah specifically to lead one of the armies. Enticed with the promise of forming her own squad and making a change in the world, she readily accepted.

During the war with the Orcs, Allarah’s famed grew and spread among the ranks. She swiftly rose among their ranks and her reputation earned her the right to imbue the units under her command with improvements she had garnered during her years as a student. Her passion for marksmanship was reflected in her newly trained and reformed troops of rangers: masters of the crossbow and subterfuge. Utilizing harrowing tactics by setting up ambushes and raining down projectiles from afar finally sealed the fate of the Orcish armies encroaching on Dwarven lands.

As a result she eventually got promoted to the rank of general and was granted complete leadership of her own personal army of experienced rangers. However, her life would change overnight. As the king’s paranoid mind dwindled, and he began to see enemies everywhere, his suspicions were aimed at a small obscure village named Grey Stone. Suspected of housing traitors to the crown, the king had issued orders to all accompanying officers of his army to exterminate the settlement without question.

Allarah finally woke up from her years of loyal but uneasy service to the king. She would not stand idly by while the king massacred innocent villagers, and so she refused the order. For this she was declared a traitor as well. And though she tried to prevent the massacred carried out by her subordinate officers, loyal to the crown, it was all in vain. The village was put to the torch, and in the ensuing chaos, Dwarven villagers, warriors, and rangers alike, would fall to one another in a gruesome spectacle of terror and death.

Allarah and her surviving squad of loyal rangers vanished into the deep forests to accept their new lives as rebels as Grey Stone burned to the ground on that fateful night.

Present day[]

Ever since the haunting events of the village massacre, and the breaking point of Mordegald’s tyranny, General Allarah has sworn to never let the innocents suffer under the oppression of the king again. In the deep forests, she bides her time to recruit and train new aspiring rangers to grow her army.

With a united sense of repentance for her years of servitude to the king and her empathy for her fellow Dwarves, she continues to wage an ever-growing guerilla war on Mordegald and his royal army, striking from the shadows where the tyrant would least expect it.
